An Angel Came to Mary

Lesson:
–From the Bible, read Luke 1:26-38 to the children.–
Mary went to visit Elizabeth.  As soon as Elizabeth heard Mary’s voice, baby John jumped in side her belly.  At that moment she was filled with the Holy spirit and said, in a loud voice, “God has blessed you more than other women. And blessed is the child you will have!  But why is God so kind to me? Why has the mother of my Lord come to me?” (Luke 1:42-43 NIrV)  Mary stayed until John was born.

Important Point: Nothing is impossible with God.

Directions: Print out Mary and the Angel and Mary’s Angel.  Print and cut out enough angels for each child.  Fold the Angels long ways so that the angel’s wings come together in the middle of the fold.  Glue the back center and place it in the middle of the Mary and the Angel print-out, so that the angel looks 3 dimensional.  They can then color the angel.
Materials:  glue, scissors, and colors

Activity: Puppet show of Mary and an angel.
Materials: Puppet stage made out of a large box.  Cut off the widest side and a square in the direct opposite side.  Hot glue a piece of fabric to the back of that square.  The children can take turns telling the story to the other children.
